Beach Clean-up

Noyo Center volunteers participated in the Coastal Cleanup Day Saturday, September 21st at the Noyo Harbor beach. Volunteers from the Noyo Center and the community picked up 11 pounds of trash. Although the weight of the trash was not massive, the number of items was staggering. Small debris often ends up being swallowed by wildlife in the ocean, rivers and on beaches. This included 219 butts, 649 pieces of Styrofoam and 81 pieces of plastic.

Join us for our monthly Beach Clean-Up!

Growing out of our very successful Tsunami Debris Survey program, the Noyo Center has initiated a permanent beach clean-up program.  Our beach stewards are making our beaches more pleasant for visitors and safer for coastal marine life.  We host a group walk at 10am every first Saturday of the month at Noyo Harbor Beach “Dog Beach” so newcomers can learn what we do and how to report their findings.
